I have a weakness for girl singers who sing this pseudo-punk pop. They sing angry songs, but they are too young to have anything to be angry about. As a result, there is an air of sunshine to the songs that blunts the anger a bit. My latest favorite in this category is by Disney pop princess Demi Lovato and it is called "La La Land". The funniest thing about this song to me is the line about being criticized for wearing sneakers with her dress. That was considered radical 30 years' ago, but it would barely get a glance today :-).
