Music Monday: "Wives and Lovers"

Today's song is Wives and Lovers. It was written by Burt Bacharach. It has that swingin' 1960s groove, and there is some truth to the sentiment in the lyrics. Before you call me a betrayer of the feminist sisterhood, think about it a minute. Where do you think the expression "work spouse" comes from? In today's society, both men and women spend as much time at work as they do at home and they start building relationships there. If you start nagging your man as soon as he walks in the door, he is going to wonder why he came home at all. The men aren't off the hook, though. If a husband ignores his wife regularly, she will find an understanding male to have lunch with . . . and more.
