Yes, I do have an accent but what sort? I don't believe that I sound particularly Southern even though I have lived here for 28 years. I've never had a Northern accent even though that's where I spent the first 10 year of my life; the New Yorkers around me always thought I was from somewhere else because I talk so slowly. When I take the time I can eliminate most traces of the accent, but I have discovered as I approach 40 that I don't care much any more.
